Sexual harassment in the workplace includes any unwanted sexual advances or gestures in the workplace. Sexual harassment has a broad definition to include many different forms of harassing onduct. Employees should provide the employer a written report about any harassment they experience or witness. Employers should promptly investigate and address any reports of sexual harassment.
Employers covered under the Fair Employment and Housing Act must take steps to prevent sexual harassment from occuring. Any employee experiencing sexual harassment should report it in writing to the employer as soon as possible. Retaliation against an employee for reporting sexual harassment is illegal.
